This Christmas season was a special one for Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi because it marked the first time they got to celebrate the holiday with their baby boy, Merrick Avery McCreery.

The new parents each took to social media to show off some of their favorite moments from celebrating this milestone with family and friends through a carousel of photos, which included Avery posing in his adorable red and white Santa hat.

Gabi’s caption read, “A merry Christmas & a happy new year ✨✨” while country star wrote on his post that their first Christmas as a family of three was “Amazing.”

McCreery previously told CMA how he and his family planned to spend Christmas this year, and all the new traditions they will get to start with Avery.

“As far as traditions go, me and my wife, it’s typically just kind of the every other year with the family thing that we do so her family’s off in Louisiana so a lot of times we go to New Orleans for Christmas one year and then we’ll stay back in [North] Carolina for one Christmas with my family,” McCreery explained. “So, I have a feeling we’ll be continuing that on, so the baby will have some southern Christmases for sure, some Cajun Christmases. I didn’t grow up eating crawfish for Christmas but he’s gonna get used to it so it’s pretty awesome.”

This year, McCreery also gave fans a glimpse into his personal family Christmas card, which highlighted him, Gabi, Avery, and their dog Moose.

“Favorite Christmas cards yet 😁 @minted 🎄🎅🏻🎄” McCreery captioned the snapshots he shared on social media.

Sending out these festive cards allowed the new parents to revel in the glory of welcoming their first child into the world on Monday, October 24 at 4:34 AM.

“Never known a love like this,” McCreery wrote on social media when he annoucned the birth of his son. “Merrick Avery McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am! 7 lbs 13oz of nothin but love! Thank y’all for all of your prayers during this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God.”

Now that the holiday season and McCreery’s paternity leave has officially come to an end, his busy schedule is ready to make a comeback. This year, he will have a whole new challenge waiting for him as he prepares to embark on his Damn Strait Tour.

McCreery shared that while he’s eager to get back to performing for his fans, he’s also aware that things will look a bit different now that he will have to spend more time than usual away from his wife and baby back home.

“It’s a weird thing for me, ‘cause it’s been the best time ever being off the road and welcoming Baby Avery, but at the same time I miss it, I miss the road, I miss the stage, I miss my fans. So I can’t wait to get back out there and play the music,” Scotty McCreery previously told Country Now.

This upcoming trek is set to kick off on January 20, 2023, in Hinton, OK, and continue with a total of 20+ dates before wrapping up in April.
