American Idol winner Chayce Beckham fulfilled a dream come true moment on Wednesday (Oct. 18) when made his Grand Ole Opry debut.
Stepping into the iconic circle on the hallowed stage for the first time ever, Beckham showcased his self-penned song “23,” which is currently inside the Top 20 at country radio, as well as the poignant ballad, “Till The Day I Die.” As the audience inside the packed Grand Ole Opry house watched on, the California native showcased his star power and knack for storytelling.
Surprise Plaque Presentation
Following his performance, Beckham received quite the surprise when his mom, Windie Peterson, and manager, Kerri Edwards, appeared on stage to present him with a platinum plaque for his song, “23.”

“Last night, so many dreams came true because of music,” the 27-year-old reflected in a statement. “It’s been a long, long road, and I’d like to thank everyone who has been on it with me. It’s hard not to be emotional when something you have been working so hard at comes to fruition, and the people who got you there can hand you the award for it on the biggest stage in Country music. Because of my family, my team, and my fans, I got to step foot into the Circle and sing at the Grand Ole Opry. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
“Lost For Words”
Still in shock, Beckham also re-live the memorable moments on social media by sharing a heartfelt caption alongside a gallery of photos from the evening.
“Hello, from The Grand Ole Opry,” he wrote. “What a moment, what a night, still lost for words, all I can say is how incredibly grateful I am of the opportunities I have had in this life, where they have taken me, and all the beautiful people who let me sing my stories for them along the way. God bless you, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
As the only American Idol contestant to win the competition with an original song, Beckham first debuted “23” to the masses during his time on season 19 of Idol. Since then, the track has continued to resonate with listeners, raking in over 312 million streams. It also topped various viral charts, including the iTunes All-Genre and Country charts.
