Shaboozey On His Milestone CMA Fest Debut: ‘Dreams Do Come True’

Shaboozey was the talk of the town at CMA Fest as he traveled from stage to stage, drawing in thousands of fans each time with his high-energy performances and electric anthems.
The emerging alt-country/hip-hop artist kicked off his packed weekend of shows with a set on the main stage of Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Thursday, June 6. This performance marked both his CMA Fest debut and his first-ever stadium show.
Shut Down The Streets Of Nashville
The following day he kept the celebrations going with an unforgettable set at the Good Molecules Reverb Stage, which drew in a crowd so large that the city was forced to shut down the streets to accommodate the high volume of concert-goers. According to CMA, Shaboozey attracted an estimated 4000-5000 fans who lined up to hear him sing the party track of the summer, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
In addition to appearing on the official CMA Fest stages, the Nigerian-American hitmaker hosted the Country Fan Fare Stadium Afterparty with PBR and served as the closing act at SiriusXM’s The Highway’s special live event, Music Row Happy Hour at Margaritaville. Plus, on Saturday (June 8), he wrapped up three days of country music at Spotify House inside Ole Red, where the packed room of fans danced along to his breakout chart-topping hit.
Surprised With RIAA Platinum Plaque
During his set, the Spotify team surprised Shaboozey with an RIAA platinum plaque for “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
Sharing these milestone moments with fans on social media, Shaboozey wrote, “I promise you, dreams do come true…”
This week, the track entered its fifth week in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and seventh week on the chart overall. It peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Song of the Summer Chart.With this feat, he and musical sensation Beyoncé have made history as the first two Black artists to lead the chart with back-to-back No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The song has also amassed over 400 million streams and landed in the Top 10 in several countries across the world with No. 1’s in Canada, Sweden, Denmark and the UK’s Big 40.
New Album Out Now
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” appears on the hot rising act’s highly anticipated album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, which debuted at No.5 the Billboard 200 album chart upon its release on May 31 via EMPIRE. The critically acclaimed album features 12 genre-bending songs including the focus track, “My Fault” ft. Noah Cyrus, and takes listeners on a “cinematic road trip” through the American West with in-depth storytelling and heart-pounding melodies.
“This album means the world to me, it’s a reflection of my journey and the stories that shaped me,” Shaboozey shared of the collection. “Growing up in Virginia, music was our way of speaking truths and finding joy, and I tried to capture that in every track. It’s a blend of all my experiences, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. I hope when y’all listen, you feel that same connection and authenticity.
