Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance during the Tight Ends & Friends concert in Nashville on Tuesday night, treating fans to a special performance alongside Lainey Wilson.

For the second year in a row, the event hosted by Tight End University took place in Music City, this time at The Pinnacle. It promised a “one-of-a-king celebration featuring surprise musical guests, live entertainment, and appearances from some of football’s biggest stars.” It’s safe to say that they delivered on that.

The night featured performances from Dan + Shay, Chase Rice, Jon Pardi, Nate Smith, Mitchell Tenpenny, Brett Young, The War and Treaty and more. Kane Brown was set to take the stage as well, but unfortunately pulled out at the last minute due to an injury. Plus, several current and former NFL players including Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen also made appearances.

By far the most memorable portion of the evening came during the final performance when Lainey Wilson took the stage and introduced her friend, Taylor Swift, who attended in support of Kelce, her soon-to-be-husband.

The country act told the packed room of fans that she remembers the very first year she attended CMA Fest as a fan, watching an act on the Riverfront Stage perform to a small crowd. Even back then she admits she knew she saw potential in 16-year-old Taylor Swift.

“She was 16, I was 14, and there was 30 people there. Four of the 30 was me, my momma, my daddy and my sister,” Wilson recalled. “I knew watching that day that it was something really, really special and it has been so cool to see what she has done. She is just as kind as she is talented…Yall welcome to the stage, my friend Taylor Swift.”

The global superstar stepped onto the stage donning a black asymmetrical strapless gown with a silver fringe trip, earning a roar of cheers from the audience. She prompted even more excitement when revealing that she and Wilson would be teaming up to fulfill a “very special request” by a “very special tight end,” whom she then named as George Kittle, co-founder of TEU alongside Kelce and former tight-end Greg Olsen.

She asked the band, “Do you wanna do ‘Love Story’?”

From there, Swift took on the first verse, leading the charge of the loud sing-along and Wilson delivered the second verse before coming together on the chorus. The 14-time GRAMMY winner even took the opportunity to flash her stunning engagement ring as she sang “He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring,” during the iconic chorus of the 2008 hit.

“Thank you for everything tonight,” Swift told the crowd before she and Wilson made their way off the stage.

The Tight End & Friends memorable event took place as the opening night ceremony of their annual three-day training camp in the offseason as a way to unite current and former tight ends together to train, study and collaborate.
