The Chicks will be heading around the globe on a 2023 World Tour.
This trek will follow their 2022 run in support of their fifth studio album, Gaslighter. This string of shows took the trio made up of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer around the U.S.
“North America! Thank you to all our fans for making last Summer so fun! We look forward to returning to the road and bringing the show to fans in new cities across the U.S. and Canada! See you soon,” The Chicks shared in a press release. “We can’t wait to see everyone and play for all our fans across the pond — it’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to get back!”
Fans shared great excitement for their return to the road upon their announcement on social media.
Their caption read, “Thank you to all our fans for making last Summer so fun! It’s time to get the party going again! We can’t wait to see everyone!”
The Chicks burst onto the country music scene in 1998 with their debut album, Wide Open Spaces, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The band went on to become the best-selling U.S. female band of all time with more than 30.5 million albums sold.
In addition to 13 GRAMMYs, The Chicks have also been awarded six Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards, and numerous Country Music Association Awards among many other awards and accolades.
To date, the group has sold over $100 million in concert tickets.
Beginning June 20 in Oslo, Norway, the “Cowboy Take Me Away” singers will perform throughout the U.K. and Europe before returning home to the states for the North American leg of their tour. Then, on July 21, they will kick off the second leg in Tulsa, OK, followed by Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and more. They will wrap things up from Sept. 5 to Sept. 18 with a run in Canada.
They will be joined by grammy-winning artist Maren Morris on all dates and Ben Harper and Wild Rivers on select dates.
“READY TO RUN to 🇨🇦🇬🇧🇮🇪🇳🇴🇸🇪🇳🇱 Europe/UK/Canada, I’ll be opening for my heroes @thechicks (!!!) later this year,” Morris wrote in her caption on Instagram.
She also shared the news on TikTok through a clip in which she wrote, “When they said ‘Careful, or you’ll end up like The Chicks’,” as the band’s hit song, “Goodbye Earl” plays in the background.
Tickets for all U.S. shows except for Bethel, Hershey, Columbus, St. Paul, & Sioux Falls will go on sale Thursday, February 16 at 10am local time. Their shows in Europe, UK, Canada, and St. Paul (U.S.) will be on sale on Friday, February 17 at 10am local time. Finally, fans hoping to attend shows in Bethel, Hershey, Columbus, and Sioux Falls dates will be able to purchase tickets beginning Friday, February 24 at 10am local time.
Before launching this tour, The Chicks will take the stage for their first-ever Las Vegas residency.
The 13-time GRAMMY-winning group announced plans for their first-ever Las Vegas engagement on Monday morning (Jan. 9).
“Finally getting to play live in 2022 left us hungry to continue our tour. After so many years without new music, last year felt like a long time coming,” The Chicks previously shared in a statement. “We hope our fans are ready for more in 2023 because we are not done! There is a lot more to come this year and we are excited to get it all started in Las Vegas at the Zappos Theater this Spring.”
Taking place at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, The Chicks: Six Nights in Vegas will be held May 3, 5, 6, 10, 12 and 13, 2023. All performances will begin at 8:00 pm local time.
