Thomas Rhett reveals he and his family have some very special plans in store for the upcoming summer months.

As soon as school’s out, Rhett says he and his wife, Lauren Akins, will be heading to the beach for a laid-back vacation with their four girls – Willa Gray, 8, Ada James, 6, Lennon Love, 4, and Lillie Carolina, 2 – as well as a few friends.

Then the excitement will really kick in when their entire family heads to Uganda in Africa to visit the country where the couple adopted their first daughter, Willa Gray, back in May of 2017.

“This will be Willa Gray’s first time going back to Uganda since we adopted her. She’s jacked and I’m just excited to be there with her,” Rhett told Country Now.

Willa was born in November of 2015 and became part of the country singer’s family less than two years later. At the time when Akins met Willa in a Ugandan children’s home, the couple had been struggling to conceive on their own. Then just a few months after beginning the adoption process, she ended up getting pregnant with their now six-year-old daughter, Ada. The Tennessee native was in her third trimester when they welcomed Willa to their home in Nashville.

When Did Thomas Rhett And His Wife Meet?

Thomas Rhett and his wife tied the knot in 2012, but their love story began way before that. They first met in kindergarten, started dating in 2011 and just six months later, he popped the question. The lovebirds were just 22 years old when they said “I do.”

Over the years as their love has grown even stronger, the platinum-selling artist has built his career on songs that clearly illustrate just how much family means to him. Rhett has been very open about the many ups and downs they have faced together, but in the end, they always seem to find a way to work through the most difficult moments.

Celebrating Their Love Story In New Song, “Beautiful As You”

In Rhett’s latest song, “Beautiful As You,” he gives fans an honest look into his relationship with his wife. Throughout the upbeat melody, he expresses disbelief that he ended up being “loved by someone way out of my league” who continues to amaze him day after day.

The fresh new track serves as the first taste of the dad of four’s upcoming seventh studio album set for release on August 23 via The Valory Music Co.

Additionally, he will deliver the television debut of “Beautiful As You” this Thursday, May 16, during the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards.
