Tim McGraw has been forced to cancel his July 21 performance at Canvas Stadium as he continues to recover from a recent back surgery.
The country music superstar was originally set to take the stage in Fort Collins, CO next month as part of Colorado State University (CSU) and the Professional Bull Riders’ Last Cowboy Standing Event. Unfortunately, behind the scenes, McGraw has been facing some serious health battles and is taking this time to focus on healing with some doctor-ordered rest.

New Act To Headline Opening Date
A new statement from Colorado State University (CSU) and Professional Bull Riders (PBR), reveals that Cross Canadian Ragweed will replace Tim McGraw’s headlining slot on the opening night of the two-day CSU PBR Last Cowboy Standing event.
“PBR and CSU are excited to announce that Cross Canadian Ragweed will headline the opening night of this groundbreaking sports and entertainment event, promising an unforgettable performance,” the message read.
The iconic band first teamed up with PBR in 2005 to perform at the official PBR After Party in Bentonville, Arkansas, following a premier series event in nearby Springdale. Their collaboration continued over the years with several additional performances at various PBR events.
“Twenty years ago, Cross Canadian Ragweed brought the house down with an unforgettable after-party, and we immediately recognized the power of this up-and-coming band,” said Sean Gleason, CEO and Commissioner of PBR. “We couldn’t be more pumped that the band is back together and have agreed to open the Last Cowboy Standing event in Fort Collins. It’s going to be an epic night of great music and the greatest bull riding on earth.”

Tim McGraw’s Health Update
During a recent interview with Audacy’s Katie Neal, the “Paper Umbrellas” singer revealed that over the past two years, he has underwent four major surgeries including a double knee replacement, back surgeries, and a shoulder surgery.
“It’s been a rough go, but you know, I beat myself up over the years pretty badly,” he admitted.
He explained that he’s been putting in the work to regain movement and strength through physical therapy. Unfortunately, his progress has not been linear.
“I’m starting to come around. It’s just gonna take a little time, but I’ve done a lot of PT getting to where I can move a little better. There’s setbacks, you know, you go a couple of weeks, everything is really good, then you have a couple of weeks everything goes backwards again, and so it’s sort of a back and forth thing, but at least I’m up and going and moving.”
While McGraw admits he has been as determined as possible to avoid canceling any shows, jumping right back onto the road for his last tour proved to be more difficult than expected.
“During the tour, the back started going cattywampus on me and in about 3 weeks in the tour, my knees went out, so I had to do the whole tour with my knee shot, my back shot, so right after I had double knee replacements. So both knees. And that was the worst, having to lay there for 6, 8 weeks and not do much.”

Upcoming Shows
Following a brief hiatus, Tim McGraw returned to the stage in Nashville on May 31 to perform at the inaugural the Music City Rodeo. It’s unclear when the Louisiana native will be ready to get back to performing, however according to his official tour schedule, he still has a slew of upcoming dates on the books.
He is next set to appear at two upcoming concert events – the Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2 as well as the first-ever concert at the iconic Field Of Dreams on August 30.
Fans can stay up to date on the status of Tim McGraw’s 2025 tour scheduled by keeping an eye on his social media pages as well as his official website.
