“One Bad Habit” Music Video
McGraw shared insight into the clip on social media, where he reacted to a photo of the couple from the early days of their relationship. McGraw appears to still smitten by his wife, even after all these years.
“That’s a beauty and the beast shot right there! Look how gorgeous she is! My gosh, what’s she doing with that guy?,” he joked as he proceeded to poke fun at himself in the photo.
He later added, “Boy, she is stunning isn’t she? I got lucky!”
Meaning Of The Song
The “One Bad Habit” music video pairs perfectly with the song, which serves as a tribute to Hill. The song finds McGraw, 56 acknowledging his flaws and imperfections and comparing them to his lover, who is a bit more tame. In a sense, they balance each other out and he hopes she never decides to up and leave her “One Bad Habit,” which is him.
“She don’t drink whiskey much, but I do/ She don’t sit on old bar stools, but I do/ I don’t worry ’bout where she’s been/ I’m the only trouble she gets in/ She don’t have tattoos on her skin, but I do,” he sings on the first verse.
The chorus goes, “’Cause I’m her wild side/ The one crazy thing she does/ I hope she never quits me/ I hope she never gives me up/ Well, I’m a mile away from perfect/ If there’s a curse word, man, I’ve cursed it/ I’m the only hell she’s еver gonna raise/ The onе bad habit I hope she never breaks.”
The song, which is McGraw’s current single at country radio, was written by Marc Beeson, Aaron Eshuis, and Tony Lane. “One Bad Habit” was officially added to country radio in January and raked in over 100 adds during its first week. This song serves as the follow-up to McGraw’s 47th chart-topping hit, “Standing Room Only.”
“One Bad Habit” is featured on Tim McGraw’s EP, dubbed Poet’s Resumé, which dropped ahead of the holiday season in 2023.
