Todd Tilghman – The Voice Finale
After nearly bringing his coach Blake Shelton to tears with a stunning performance of MercyMe’s “I Can Only Imagine,” Todd Tilghman showcased his debut original song, “Long Way Home,” on The Voice finale on Monday (May 18).
“Long Way Home” was originally pitched to Grammy-winning trio Lady Antebellum on NBC’s hit show Songland. Lady A ended up cutting “Champagne Night,” and the song ended up with Tilghman. The Mississippi pastor recorded the track, which was written by Ryan Innes, Dustin Christensen, Ester Dean, Shane McAnally and Ryan Tedder, for the finale. The song, which is available now, was co-produced by McAnally and Dean.

Prior to his performance, Tilghman shared his excitement over the opportunity to work with the Songland producers.
“Heck, I’m just excited to be able to do this with y’all, you’ve worked with like Kacey Musgraves all the way to like Rihanna,” he said, beaming.
“Something so freakin’ cool about this song ‘Long Way Home,’ is that Ryan Innes, who brought the song to Songland, was actually on The Voice. It’s meant to be man,” McAnally acknowledged.
After McAnally complimented his voice, Tilghman joked, “Make me famous!”
“Well, Blake, I think you’ve got a winner here with Todd, I think this song already sounds like it was part of his catalog,” McAnally shared.
“I can’t decide which is my favorite, his talent or just the heart inside the guy,” Shelton complimented.
