And just like that, we have a new, first timer at No.1 in the polls and it’s Carrie Underwood (deservingly so).

There’s some other movement this week as Eric Church moves up in the ranks. Apparently, a girl in the crowd at one of his shows was holding a sign that asked for him to donate to her “Jogathon.” He responded with a 10k donation. Classy.

Dan + Shay fly up the charts with the release of a brand new song with Justin Bieber. The question as to how radio would receive it is quickly answered as it was added on over 100 stations in the first week. They also announced their first-ever arena tour. Things are looking up for this duo!

There are lots of albums hitting this fall. Brantley Gilbert’s new album arrived this week as he moves up the chart. Old Dominion and Luke Combs both have albums on the way.

Also, congratulations to Kenny Chesney and Chris Janson, who are making their debut on the chart this week.

The action is starting to heat up as the CMA Awards approach. Also, the CMT Artists of the Year special is just a few days away. There could be some big shakeups on the chart.
