Over the weekend, Tracy Lawrence was honored for the legacy he has built as a country music icon over the past three decades when he was officially inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. During a ceremony in Carthage, Texas, he not only received the coveted plaque but also took the stage to perform his country classic, “Texas Tornado.”

Other 2024 inductees who were also celebrated during the event included Roy Orbison and the Mandrell Sisters.

“I’m so honored. For those who don’t know, I was born in Atlanta, Texas. I appreciate your graciousness and hospitality of everyone here in Carthage, it’s been such a great day for us,” Lawrence said humbly at the ceremony. “It’s not really a job, it’s a lifestyle. I love it. I still love it as much as I ever did.”

In a recap video that compiles the excitement and sentiment of the night, viewers get a glimpse into some of the memorabilia that now lives in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Lawrence’s honor. He specifically pointed out items such as the J-200 guitar that he played on the road for many years and an image from a talent show he entered in high school.

While looking at all the different elements of his career from behind the glass, the singer and philanthropist said, “I think it’s beautiful. They did a really, really good job.”

In June, the “Time Marches On” singer released even more songs his Out Here In It EP, which marked his first body of work in three years. The six-track collection features cuts from some of Nashville’s hottest songwriters including Rodney Clawson, Devin Dawson, Jacob Durrett, Wyatt McCubbin, Lee Thomas Miller, Ernest Keith Smith and more.

He also recently wrapped up his time on the road with Riley Green as a special guest on his 33-stop Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour. Per a recent Instagram post, Lawrence has no plans of slowing down anytime soon and still has plenty of dates on the books throughout the year.

He wrote, “I got a good heart, I wouldn’t hurt a soul. But I’m gonna keep rocking till they call that roll…”

Tonight, August 14, Tracy Lawrence will perform at the Cotillion Ballroom in Wichita, KS before making his way to Lampe, MO and Fairmont, MN in the coming days.
