Travis Tritt joined forces with Post Malone to deliver a rousing rendition of his 1992 hit, “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” during NBC’s Opry 100: A Live Celebration on Wednesday at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
Before the show, Tritt spoke with Country Now about meeting Post Malone and revealed what stood out to him the most about the genre-bending star.

“I never had met Post until today. And we met just before the rehearsal,” Tritt told us on the Opry 100 red carpet. “Two things about him impressed me. First of all, he’s one of the most respectful young men I’ve ever met. He does what I’ve taught my children to do. He says, ‘yes, sir’ and ‘no sir.’ Every single time he says a sentence, showing respect, which I think is wonderful. Second of all, the love that he has for country music just exudes out of him.”
Tritt was in awe of Post Malone and later added, “And what more could you ask for to be a part of such a special night with people that absolutely love country music and the tradition behind it.”
Just hours later, the pair united on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry to deliver a stand-out performance of “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” which had the Opry crowd dancing and singing along. Fans were seen clapping, smiling, and signing as the artists lit up the stage with the fast-paced song.
“But mama never told me ’bout nothin’ like Y-O-U/ Bet your mama must’ve been another good lookin’ honey too/ Hey, good L-double-O-K-I-N-G/ Well, I smell T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” they sang.
Being a member of the Opry was a longtime goal for Travis Tritt and he once thought it would never happen.
“When I first came to Nashville in the late eighties, I always dreamed of being a part of the Grand Ole Opry. I never thought they would let me in because I had long hair and wore a lot of leather and I was a little bit different,” Tritt admitted to us moments before the show.

That all changed on May 4, 1991 when Tritt had the opportunity to make his Opry debut. And much to his surprise, less than a year later, on February 29, 1992, he was invited to become a member of the prestigious organization.
