After being forced to reschedule several shows over the past few weeks to recover from an ongoing battle with pneumonia, Travis Tritt is finally feeling well enough to return to the stage.

On Wednesday, October 14, Tritt revealed that recovery has been a struggle after he first announced his diagnosis earlier this month. At the time, the 63-year-old country music legend stated that he was feeling “weak and sluggish” and found out that he had been unknowingly dealing with pneumonia for weeks.

“I’m sorry to report that I was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier this week. Turns out that the pneumonia was actually present for the past 2 weeks, but I didn’t know it, because I’ve never had it before. I just knew I felt a bit weak and sluggish,” he wrote.

Tritt appeared to be in better spirits in the new video shared to Instagram, especially as he gave the exciting news that he is finally going back out on the road this weekend to deliver his last three major shows of the year.

His first performance back will take place at the Grand Theater in Durant, OK on Thursday, Oct. 15, followed by another show in Tulsa, OK on Friday, Oct. 16. He will close out the weekend with an appearance at the Boots for Troops concert in the Country in Stagecoach, TX on Saturday, Oct. 17.

“It’s been a rough go, but I’m finally back good enough to where I feel like normal again…we’re looking forward to being out,” he added with a smile on his face.

While he was eager to give the update about the upcoming shows, the Georgia native’s main intention with the video was to express his gratitude for all the love and kind messages that fans have sent him during recovery.

“I wanted to say more than anything else, thank you to everyone who sent get well wishes, sent your prayers during the time that I was kind of down and out,” he continued. “It’s appreciated more than you’ll ever know. And I’m looking forward to being back out there again.”

Travis Tritt confirmed that he is feeling “great” and is looking forward to seeing fans out on the road again to play some true country music.

Fans can find more upcoming dates on Tritt’s official website.
