Travis Tritt will soon release Proud of the Country, an album he recorded over three decades ago.
The two-time GRAMMY award-winning artist will release the project to all digital streaming services worldwide for the first time via Copperhill Records on April 28. The album will be distributed by Reservoir imprint Painted Desert Music.
The album includes 11 tracks that boast the quintessential Travis Tritt sound that has won over millions of fans since the start of his career.
The rare album reportedly landed Tritt his very first record deal, marking a vital turning point in his career. It was originally released 36 years ago in 1987 via Copperhill Records, a one-off label used by the recording studio Demo Listen Studio in Marietta, Georgia. At the time, only 1,000 physical copies of the 2-side album were made and the record has never been digitally released until now.
Returning to his roots, Proud of the Country showcases Tritt’s traditional, down-to-earth, classic country sound; using the best of acoustic sounds, steel guitar, banjo, the hum of a harmonica, and his famous blue-collar Georgia soulfulness.
The first track from the album, “Get A Little Rowdy,” is now available to stream now. The classic country track reminisces on Tritt’s days of playing clubs and small honky tonks.
Proud of the Country was produced by Danny Davenport, Billy Suit, and Travis Tritt.
Tritt wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, which is available to pre-save here.
The release of the project comes after the 2022 acquisition of Tritt’s publishing and recorded music catalogs; the deal included shares of Tritt’s entire body of work, only excluding his 2021 full-length studio album, Set In Stone.
Travis Tritt has charted more than 40 times on the Hot Country Songs Chart and earned five No.1 songs and 20 Top 10 hits. Tritt has also been dubbed one of “The Class of ‘89,” which includes Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and Alan Jackson, who dominated the charts in the ‘90s.
Tritt is now getting ready to hit the road for his 2023 tour across the US. The tour is kicking off March 30 in Troy, OH, and will take him and his band through Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, North Carolina. Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and more, with other markets and dates soon to be announced.
Tritt is also set to join Eric Church on The Outsiders Revival Tour for two shows this summer: Cincinnati, OH (July 14) and St. Louis, MO (July 15). To purchase tickets or for more information on Travis Tritt’s 2023 tour dates, please visit https://travistritt.com/tour/.
