Warren Zeiders is taking full advantage of the opportunity to be part of Jelly Roll’s extensive Beautifully Broken Tour. Serving as a special guest on the run has allowed him to gain a mentor in the genre-bending star and gain some valuable advice along the way.
“We get a decent amount of time together, you know, being out here on the road with everything that he’s got going on. On days off he’s bobbing and weaving and he’s flying places for all the things that he’s got going on in his life, but we’ve had a chance to box together,” Zeiders said, giving Country Now a look at what goes on behind the scenes while out on the road. “We occasionally get to talk for a little bit and stuff, but the time that we have had, the moments we’ve shared together, he’s honestly just been a great listening board and a good words of wisdom guy and some of his pieces of advice have just been kind of eye opening.”
Taking Notes From Jelly Roll
Each night during his own set, Zeiders makes it a point to try and soak in everything around him and take notes while watching how Jelly Roll captivates the crowd and interacts with his audience. For the Pennsylvania native, this mentorship couldn’t have come at a better time as it gives him new tools and unique insight as he prepares to launch his own headline tour in 2025.
“A big takeaway is really just kind of soaking it all in for me playing my set before he comes on and then going out to front of house and just kind of watching his show in different areas. I’ve watched it from front of house, I’ve watched it from a suite and everything, but I’ve taken a lot of inspiration. And it’s fun because it’s a learning experience,” he explained. “So I get to kind of watch what he does, what does the walkout look like? What’s his stage setup look like? What kind of production does he have? How is he interacting with the crowd? What’s the crowd love? What’s his thing that really makes him stand out and makes him so unique? I think watching his show has been an awesome learning experience for me.”
“He’s Just Been Really Welcoming”
The pair of artists have also found a common interest in fitness as Jelly Roll is currently on his health journey and Zeiders has always had a passion for health and wellness. So whether he’s watching Jelly Roll perform, boxing together or having a heart-to-heart in the sauna between shows, the “Save Me” singer’s insights have clearly left a lasting impact on the rising country singer.
“He’s honestly a really great guy and it’s been super cool to be out on the road with him. He’s treated me really, really well as an opener, just with the amenities he’s allowed me to have access to. And being a direct support artist with pyro, this is my first time having pyro, which is really, really cool,” Zeiders expressed. “He’s allowed me to have quite a bit of access to things on stage, as a direct support slot, which really ups the ante for my show. And obviously it’s beneficial to both of us to really get the crowd going for when it’s time for him to get on stage. So he’s just been really welcoming and his crew and his team have been really good to me and my team.”
Named after Jelly Roll’s upcoming album, dropping October 11, the Beautifully Broken Tour kicked off in August and continues through October 27 with visits to major markets such as Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and more. Over the weekend, the rising star experienced an incredibly special moment with Jelly Roll as the tour made a stop at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
In March, Warren Zeiders will launch his Relapse Tour in Nashville, TN with support from Tyler Braden. The trek finds him performing 23 new dates across Europe and the U.S. in some of his biggest venues to date.
