American Idol returned on Sunday (May 10), revealing the Top 7 and showcasing Disney-themed performances from the remaining contestants. Once again, everyone, including the contestants, the judges, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, as well as host, Ryan Seacrest, and in-house mentor, Bobby Bones, appeared from their homes.

Fan-favorite contestant Arthur Gunn was the first Idol hopeful to secure a spot in the Top 7. After thanking fans for voting for him, Gunn delivered a solid performance of The Little Mermaid‘s “Kiss The Girl.”

His performance garnered praise from each of the judges.

“Arthur you look relaxed, you look cool and I think overall you really engaged with us, it just felt like we were all having a cocktail, me a mocktail, on the beach with you, you felt really relaxed and I loved it,” Perry gushed.

Bryan went on to call the budding star a “potentially massive recording artist” and told him he couldn’t wait for him to “make a record.”

Richie commended Gunn for his unique style, telling him, “Anything you sing is going to have the Arthur Gunn stamp on it. I think that is the most important thing to be able to sell right now is your style. You have your identity, and you’re doing a great job at selling it.”

Fans who would like to vote for Arthur Gunn can vote online or by texting 16 to 21523.

Sunday’s episode of American Idol revealed the Top 7 contestants and featured the Idol hopefuls singing various Disney tunes such as the title track of Beauty and the Beast, “ Cinderella‘s “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” and Lion King‘s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?”  Later, they went on to perform songs that remind them of their mothers or mother figures.

Following Sunday’s show, America will cast votes to determine the American Idol Top 5.
