Chapel Hart brought a fiery performance of their original song “The Girls Are Back In Town” to America’s Got Talent (AGT) during the Semi-finals on Tuesday (Aug. 16).

Following their performance, which earned a lengthy standing ovation and roaring applause, America’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel praised the trio and gushed over their impressive stage presence.
“Things will go very well for Chapel Hart,” Cowell said, after learning that the trio wrote the original song themselves. “We loved you from your very, very first audition and we loved you because you just lit up the room. Your songs are brilliant. You are amazing performers and I have a really, really, really good feeling about what’s going to happen for you.”
Cowell then encouraged viewers to pick up their phones and vote for the country trio.
“If you love Chapel Hart like us, you got to pick up the phone. You got to vote because there are some very, very good performances tonight. You have really given yourselves a shot. Congratulations!” Cowell gushed.
Vergara exclaimed, “you guys are perfect! You’re all about fun. We can’t take our eyes from you and this [performance] was better than your audition. I really think this is going to be a very big night for you!”
“Yee haw!” Klum shouted before praising the trio, “America’s got country! I think Drake [Milligan] and you guys will be in the finale! I have a feeling America’s got country!”
Mandel then applauded their stage presence, which is at the level of a superstar.
“I didn’t just watch a talent show. I was watching a headline show!” Mandel added. “You deserve everything, Good luck!”
Chapel Hart’s return to the show comes after they wowed millions of viewers with their performance of an original song called “You Can Have Him Jolene.” The song was written in response to Dolly Parton’s iconic hit, “Jolene,” and captivated judges Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel and host Terry Crews.
“So, we’re going to sing an original song, it’s called ‘You Can Have Him Jolene.’ We’ve always been country music fans and Dolly [Parton] by far is our favorite,” Danica explained ahead of their performance. “We were so inspired by the song ‘Jolene’ and we just love the storyline and we figured from 1973 to 2022 we can not still be fighting over the same man. So, we decided to tell her you can just have him Jolene.”
Within seconds, Chapel Hart got the audience clapping and dancing along, capturing their attention with their infectious stage presence. They earned a standing ovation from the judges panel as well as the packed theater.
Tears were flowing as the trio earned praise from the judges and ultimately earned a golden buzzer.
Their performance lit up the internet, raking in millions of views within hours. They even caught the attention of Dolly Parton herself.
“What a fun new take on my song, @ChapelHartBand! Carl’s birthday is today so I think I’ll hang on to him, and I’m not notifying Jolene that today is his birthday,” she wrote alongside a winking face emoji.
Fellow country music legend Loretta Lynn even got in on the action.
“I love it, ladies. Now I’m wondering what you might be able to do with one of my songs! Chapel Hart #AGT #breakingthrough #girlpower #stillwomanenough,” Lynn wrote on Facebook.
Following the whirlwind experience on AGT, Chapel Hart was surprised with the invitation to make their Opry debut.
Additionally, country superstar Darius Rucker recently revealed that he recorded a duet with Chapel Hart that will appear on his forthcoming new album.
