Kane Brown surprised fans at his Ottawa concert when he was joined on stage by his wife, Katelyn Brown, for the live debut of their duet, “Thank God.”
The country superstar was beaming with pride as Katelyn stood by his side for the romantic duet. The performance was captured on Video by Brown’s team and later shared to his social media accounts.
“My baby’s first time on stage singing our song together ❤️,” Kane sweetly captioned the post. “She killed it of course and I’m so proud of you!!!! (Thank god)!!!!! Ottawa Canada y’all slayed 🔥”
The performance video caught the attention of fans and several members of the country music community.
Artists like Walker Hayes, Chris Lane, Carly Pearce, Morgane Stapleton, Danielle Bradbery and so many more took to the comments section to applaud the couple’s performance.
“Dang she crushed it🔥, wrote Hayes, while Pearce shared, “Yes @katelynbrown” alongside several fire emojis.
As the overwhelming support flooded in, Katelyn shared her gratitude.
“speechless. Thanks babe for making me as comfortable as possible and for everyone being so kind 💕,” she wrote.
“Thank God” was written by Josh Hoge, Jaxson Free, Kyle Fishman, Christian Davis, and Jared Mullins and appears on Brown’s just-released third studio album, Different Man.
Kane and Katelyn recently brought the song to life in a picturesque music video, filmed in Hawaii.
Directed by Brown’s longtime collaborator, Alex Alvga, the clip follows the couple around one of the Hawaiian islands as they cruise down a picturesque road in a vintage Bronco with the top down, enjoy a walk through a luscious tropical rain forest, and escape the world together in a mountainside bungalow.
The video concludes with the couple embracing on a beach as the sun sets around them, making for a stunning, romantic moment.
“Thank God” is racing up the charts at country radio, and currently sits at No.11 on the Mediabase Country Airplay chart. Destined to become Brown’s 9th No.1 single, following “Like I Love Country Music,” “Thank God” was recently nominated for two Country Now Awards, including Favorite Love Song and Favorite Collaboration. Kane Brown is also nominated for Favorite Album, Favorite Male Artist, and Favorite Sing-Along. Fans can vote now through Dec. 15 HERE.
While Katelyn’s vocal chops may come as a surprise to some fans, she is no stranger to making music. In fact, when Katelyn first met Kane, she was pursuing a career as a solo R&B/Pop singer. Music is what brought them together in the first place as Kane was cast to be in Katelyn’s music video, but couldn’t fulfill the appearance due to a show.
In a 2020 interview with RADIO.com’s Kelly Ford, Kane shared the story about his first time meeting Katelyn.
“We met down in Florida at my very first show ever, I believe it was in 2015. The day before that show, I was supposed to be in her music video because she was an artist as well, and it couldn’t happen cause my show was the same day as the music video,” he recalled.
“So a year goes by and the same guy we were working with brings her to a show, she didn’t want to come and he forced her basically. We met, we didn’t talk at all, I maybe said hey to her but I thought she was adorable and I kept looking at her all night. So I asked her to come to Nashville like the next day, I flew her down and we just hit it off and she never left.”
Kane Brown’s Drunk Or Dreaming Tour will continue its run in Canada through Dec. 18.
After the holidays, Brown will take the show overseas before returning to the states for the U.S. leg of the tour.
