Lainey Wilson shared an unforgettable moment with a young fan named Finley on Saturday (June 17) during her performance at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.
The country superstar was in the midst of performing her fan-favorite track, “Hillbilly Hippie,” when she noticed a young fan in the crowd holding up a sign that read, “Lainey, my Dad bet me a pony if I get to get on stage at my first ever country concert.”
Wilson immediately invited the fan on stage after seeing the sign and read it aloud to the capacity crowd. Once the little girl stepped onstage, she broke down in tears as Wilson embraced her in a hug.
The reigning ACM Female Artist Of The Year then began seeking out the young girl’s father in the audience and once she found him, she requested that he fulfill his daughter’s wishes of getting a pony.
“She’s going to get a pony now. I hate to tell you, but you’ve got to get a pony tomorrow,” Wilson told the girl’s father. “Finley is getting a pony, y’all!”
The Louisiana native is currently on the road with Luke Combs on his 2023 World Tour, which kicked off on March 25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Each night of the tour, the superstars join forces to perform, “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a track that originally features Combs with Miranda Lambert.
Lainey Wilson will continue to serve as direct support for Combs throughout the U.S. leg of the trek, which wraps up on July 29 in Philadelphia, PA at Lincoln Financial Field.
Following her trek with Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson will hit the road with Eric Church for select dates of his The Outsiders Revival Tour.
Wilson will also join HARDY for the second leg of his the mockingbird & THE CROW tour, presented by Ebay Motors, which kicks off on August 31 in Knoxville, Tennessee at Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
“It’s about dang time HARDY and I toured together again! It’s gonna be WILD with all these rednecks together,” Wilson wrote on Instagram at the time of the tour announcement.
Lainey Wilson recently earned her fourth career No. 1 at Country Radio with “Wait In The Truck,” a collaboration with HARDY, which follows her third No. 1, “Heart Like A Truck.”
Meanwhile, “Watermelon Moonshine,” her latest single is making a quick climb up the charts at country radio.
“I’m so excited to announce ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ as my next single. This song embodies what Country music means to me, creating a timeless story that will resonate with people for generations to come,” Wilson previously shared in a statement. “This song is about the crazy, young, nostalgic love we all hope to experience.”
Co-written by Wilson alongside Jordan Schmidt and Josh Kear, “Watermelon Moonshine” is a nostalgic ballad that finds the songstress reflecting on young love.
“Drinkin’ watermelon moonshine / Cut the burn with a little lime / Parkin’ back in them kudzu vines / I was his and every bit of that boy was mine / Too young to know what love was / But we werе learnin’ on a sweet buzz / There’s never nothin’ like the first time / And mine’s always gonna taste like / Watermelon moonshine,” Wilson sings.
“Watermelon Moonshine” appears on Wilson’s latest album, Bell Bottom Country, which arrived on October 28, 2022.
Bell Bottom Country features 16 tracks, including the chart-topping “Heart Like A Truck,” nostalgia-filled “Watermelon Moonshine,” and the heartfelt “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song).”
“I’ve lived quite a bit of life the past few years, and I have a lot more to say,” Wilson shared of the new album. “Sure, I love a good pair of bell bottoms, but Bell Bottom Country to me has always been about the flare and what makes someone unique — I have really embraced mine, and I hope y’all can hear that across this project.”
