Scotty McCreery brought a dose of Christmas spirit to ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday (Dec. 21) with a performance of his new original Christmas song, “Feel Like the Holidays.”
Prior to his performance on the GMA stage, the platinum-selling country star opened up about his recent surprise invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry during a conversation with Robin Roberts.
Reflecting on the surprise invitation, which was delivered as an early Christmas present from Grand Ole Opry member Garth Brooks, McCrerry said, “[It was] just the coolest night of my life. It’s always been like the top goal in my career to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry and to have that happen and it to be Garth Brooks, like what in the world is going on? It’s crazy!”
“Feel Like the Holidays”
He also dished on his 2024 headlining Cab In A Solo Tour, revealing that the trek will be a family affair with his wife, Gabi, and 1-year-old son, Avery, tagging along.
“The whole family. We’ll be out there. So it’ll be a fun time,” McCreery shared.
For his performance, the soon-to-be Grand Ole Opry member lit up the New York City stage with “Feel Like the Holidays,” a track written by Bobby Hamrick, Derek George, Frank Rogers, Jeremy Bussey and Monty Criswell. The song was released in October and marked McCreery’s first holiday release in 11 years.
“I love Christmas and Christmas music, so I’m thrilled to release ‘Feel Like the Holidays’ today,” McCreery stated at the time of the release. “It’s got such a classic Christmas song vibe and puts you right in the mood for the holiday season. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed recording it.”

In addition to performing “Feel Like the Holidays” on Good Morning America, McCreery also shared a performance of the Christmas classic “Santa Claus is Back in Town” during GMA3 later in the morning on Thursday.
