WATCH: Scotty McCreery Spreads Christmas Cheer On Good Morning America

Scotty McCreery brought a dose of Christmas spirit to ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday (Dec. 21) with a performance of his new original Christmas song, “Feel Like the Holidays.” 

Prior to his performance on the GMA stage, the platinum-selling country star opened up about his recent surprise invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry during a conversation with Robin Roberts. 

Reflecting on the surprise invitation, which was delivered as an early Christmas present from Grand Ole Opry member Garth Brooks, McCrerry said, “[It was] just the coolest night of my life. It’s always been like the top goal in my career to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry and to have that happen and it to be Garth Brooks, like what in the world is going on? It’s crazy!”

He also dished on his 2024 headlining Cab In A Solo Tour, revealing that the trek will be a family affair with his wife, Gabi, and 1-year-old son, Avery, tagging along.

“The whole family. We’ll be out there. So it’ll be a fun time,” McCreery shared. 

For his performance, the soon-to-be Grand Ole Opry member lit up the New York City stage with “Feel Like the Holidays,” a track written by Bobby Hamrick, Derek George, Frank Rogers, Jeremy Bussey and Monty Criswell. The song was released in October and marked McCreery’s first holiday release in 11 years

“I love Christmas and Christmas music, so I’m thrilled to release ‘Feel Like the Holidays’ today,” McCreery stated at the time of the release. “It’s got such a classic Christmas song vibe and puts you right in the mood for the holiday season. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed recording it.”

In addition to performing “Feel Like the Holidays” on Good Morning America, McCreery also shared a performance of the Christmas classic “Santa Claus is Back in Town” during GMA3 later in the morning on Thursday. 

“Cab In A Solo” Continues To Climb The Charts

His performance comes as his latest single, “Cab In A Solo” continues to climb the charts at country radio. According to U.S. Radio Updater on X, the track cracked the Top 20 on the Mediabase country chart on Friday.

This song is the lead single from the country crooner’s highly anticipated new album. While he has yet to unveil specific details about the project, the 30-year-old revealed that he and several of his songwriting friends took to the North Carolina mountains for a songwriting retreat and that several songs written during this trip will likely appear on the project. 

“1 mountain house. 2 days. 5 guys. 13 songs written,” he wrote on social media last spring. 

2024 Tour

Following a break for the holiday season, the platinum-selling singer/songwriter will launch his much-anticipated headlining Cab In A Solo Tour on Friday, Jan. 26 in Troy, Ohio. The trek will feature  Anne Wilson as direct support as well as Greylan James and Noah Hicks on select dates.
