Country Icon Toby Keith Embracing Family And Hope This Holiday Season
Keith is counting his blessings and recognizes that family is more important than ever.

Toby Keith is entering the holiday season with a profound sense of gratitude. The country superstar opened up about his renewed sense of optimism and shared an update on his health during a recent interview with Audacy’s Katie & Company.
The Country Star Is Feeling “So Blessed”
Keith, 62, admitted that his stomach cancer diagnosis caused a major shift in his life and priorities, sharing, “When you get diagnosed [with cancer], you just freak. And here it is two years later… [family] things are more important than anything, and I’m so blessed.”
The Songwriters Hall Of Famer who remains married to his longtime love, Tricia Lucas, and is a father to three children, Shelley Covel Rowland, Krystal Keith, and Stelen Keith Covel, continues to count his blessings and shares a positive outlook on life.
“Turning A Corner” In His Cancer Battle
“I’m doing really good. It’s been a tough two years, but I think I’m turning a corner,” he stated. “I don’t know if you’re ever done with it [cancer], but I’m trying to be.”
In a separate interview on the sports podcast, Sellout Crowd, the Oklahoma native referred to his cancer battle as “a rollercoaster” and said that he is lucky to be able to seek out the “best treatments” available.
“I have the resources financially and otherwise to get the best treatments I can get. They’re taking great care of me and I’m getting all the latest stuff you can get,” he said during the segment dubbed Conversations with Coach. “In fact, I’m going to Florida to see another guy down there that’s got some other kind of treatments and I’m trying ’em all I’m throwing the kitchen sink at it.”
Triumphant Return To The Stage In Las Vegas
Toby Keith recently closed out a run of three sold-out shows in Las Vegas at Dolby Live at Park MGM. He performed for two hours each night and welcomed a few special guests to the show, including Trace Adkins and Sammy Hagar. Fans on social media reported that the vibe inside the theater was “electric” and praised the legendary entertainer for keeping the crowd on its feet throughout the night.
For the set list, the People’s Choice Country Awards Country Icon recipient assembled his biggest hits, including “Beer For My Horses,” “How Do You Like Me Now,” “You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This,” “Red Solo Cup,” and “Courtesy of the Red White And Blue.”
At one point during each show, he surprised fans with a segment of songs that “should’ve been singles.” This proved to be fan-favorite moment.
A Pandora Triple Billionaire
Backstage on Sunday (12/10), Keith received a pleasant surprise from Pandora in the form of a Triple Billionaire Plaque, recognizing his music’s outstanding performance on the platform. He later shared a photo of the moment on social media to commemorate the occasion.
After taking a two-year break to focus on his health, Toby Keith is heading into 2024 with plans to return to the road. While an official tour has yet to be announced, the superstar’s team has referred to his recent Las Vegas stint as a “prelude to his 2024 return to touring.”
