Legendary singer/songwriter Tim McGraw recently took to Instagram to share an up close and personal cover of country music icon George Strait’s hit, “You Look So Good In Love.”

The stripped-down version features McGraw seated on a stool in casual clothing while singing along to an acoustic guitar. “It’s always a good day to sing some @georgestrait,” the country star captioned his video.

The “Humble And Kind” singer has always been a huge fan of Strait, so it is no surprise that he chose to cover one of his tracks.

“Who doesn’t love George Strait, musically, and all that he represents? You just think he’s just one of those guys that’s just so innately confident with himself, and confident with who he is, which is always great to see, and cool to see and something that’s always inspiring,” McGraw once shared with Country Outfitter.

Written by Glen Ballard, Rory Bourke and Kerry Chater, “You Look So Good In Love” was originally recorded by the “King of Country Music” for his album Right or Wrong. The tune tells the story of the broken-hearted narrator watching his past lover move on with another man.

Covered by artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Mickey Gilley, Joe Alfano and Kirk Jay and Blake Shelton, McGraw’s version was a welcomed addition to the impressive list.

The chart-topping singer’s surprise Instagram post was a real treat for fans, as the entertainer has been extremely busy the past few months. With live dates books for 2021 and his acting career taking off in a new spinoff of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone, the cover was a well-deserved moment of peace to get back to his country roots.
