Season 20 American Idol alum Kelsie Dolin just welcomed her first child. 

The West Virginia native took to social media late Wednesday to introduce her baby boy, Carter Lee James Dolin. 

“He is so beautiful😭❤️🙏 so thankful for a healthy baby and a smooth delivery! Will be posting more soon!!! Love you guys,” she wrote. 

Dolin’s post included a snapshot of her holding her newborn son. 

According to her post, Carter Lee James Dolin was born on August 10, 2022 at 5:03 pm. 

Her followers flooded the comments section of her Instagram post with congratulatory messages.

Dolin announced her pregnancy via social media this past spring. 

 “Y’all!! I’ve been keeping a little secret…” Dolin teased on Instagram alongside a photo of a sonogram. She also added a photo of her growing baby bump with a caption that reads, “little ones growing!!!!!!” 

“I’m having a baby and, It’s a…. BOY!!! Can’t wait to meet baby carter!!! August 8th!!” Dolin continued. 

After the exciting news was shared by Dolin, several of her Idol cohorts, including HunterGirl, Sam Moss, Livvy Love, Kaylin Roberson, Sarah Beth Taite and more congratulated her.

“Congratulations,” Huntergirl commented.

“KELSIE Been wondering about you. Awe your boy gets the sweetest mama! Welcome to the cool mom club,” Moss wrote. Roberson then added, “Ohhhh so exciting Kelsie!”

Dolin was a standout contestant throughout her time on Idol, with performances of Adele’s “When We Were Young,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece” and Lainey Wilson’s chart-topping hit, “Things A Man Oughta Know.”

After her time on American Idol, Dolin thanked those who supported her along the way.

“I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey, and even though I didn’t make it to the Top 24 I’ve grown in ways I never thought possible! You literally haven’t heard 👂 the last of me yet! 🎶,” she wrote.

Earlier this summer she returned to the stage to perform during a pre-party for Luke Bryan’s Raised Up Right Tour in her hometown.
