Bailey Rae delivered her best performance to date on NBC’s The Voice on Monday evening (Dec. 7), offering up a soulful cover of “Georgia On My Mind.”
The 18-year-old Oklahoma native added her traditional country flair to the iconic Ray Charles song and earned praise from coach John Legend as well as fellow Okie Balek Shelton.
“I loved Bailey Rae,” Shelton said. “She knows that at his point. Not just because she a hometown, girl but also because of your voice.”
The “Happy Anywhere” singer went on to compliment Bailey Rae’s vocals and compare her to country vocalists from the 1980s.

“It’s so refreshing and so different for this show,” Shelton added. “Thank you. It sounds so good!”
Bailey Rae is Legend’s first-ever country artist and he hopes to take her to the finale.
“America has to be reminded of how young Bailey Rae is. “Every time she comes out here she performs with such confidence…it feels like she’s been here much longer than she’s been here,” he shared.
Fans can vote for Bailey Rae to advance to the next round by visiting the official The Voice voting website, casting a vote via The Voice‘s official app or voting from their Google Assistant. There is a limit of 10 votes per artist per method.
