Over the weekend, Bailey Zimmerman was heavily booed on stage while opening for Morgan Wallen on the second night of a two-show run at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. In the midst of the rising star’s performance, the massive crowd made it clear that they were not happy with Zimmerman’s decision to wear a Las Vegas Raiders jersey and he had the best response.

Since moving to Sin City in January of 2020, the NFL team hasn’t succeeded in winning over many Las Vegas football fans, and they made that abundantly clear during Zimmerman’s set. He was full of energy while singing his soulful tune, “Never Leave” when he noticed a feeling of negativity wash over the crowd. Zimmerman then stopped singing, held up a thumbs down and pointed to his sweatshirt, letting the fans know he got the message. He attempted to power through the song, but when the boo’s continued, he stopped once again and asked, “you guys want me to take it off or what?”

This question earned a positive reaction from the audience, leading Zimmerman to strip off the Raiders merch without a second thought.

“Alright, now that we’re past that, can I sing some more or what?” He asked before earning cheers of approval and continuing with his performance.

Later sharing the video to Instagram, the “Holy Smokes” singer joked, “I know yall just wanted me to take my shirt off😂”

Many fans took to the comment section of his post to commend Zimmerman on using his quick thinking to turn the situation around and assured him that it wasn’t his performance that was being criticized.

“You handled it so well!! We definitely weren’t booing you, just the shirt,” one concertgoer wrote. “The Raiders are very new to Vegas and not really the locals team…You absolutely killed it though! Your voice in concert is incredible and I was so stoked to see you live!”

“Love this 😂 love your brush it off attitude 🫶🏼,” said another.

Even Nate Smith, who was also opening for this round of Vegas shows, praised Zimmerman, saying, “You’re the man for continuing on. that ain’t easy.”

Later on in the night, Bailey Zimmerman reappeared during Morgan Wallen’s headline set to help sing ERNEST’s part in the collaborative hit, “Cowgirls.” As he revealed in an earlier post, this stop with the One Night At A Time World Tour marked Zimmerman’s first time in Las Vegas, and it’s safe to say he had a good time.

“This was my first time in Vegas and let me tell yall it was just like the movies🤩 Except I didn’t wake up with a tiger in my bathroom and I didn’t lose all my money😂,” he said in reference to the iconic movie, The Hangover. “So that being said… 10/10 WOULD DO IT AGAIN🔥🤘 Thankful for all the memories and I’m beyond grateful to be living this INSANE life… ITS ALL BECAUSE OF YALL❤️”

This weekend, the Illinois native will find himself taking the stage at the State Fair of West Virginia on Thursday, August 15, followed by a headlining stop on his Religiously. The Tour. In Wilmington, NC. Zimmerman also has even more dates booked as a supporting act with Luke Bryan and Kane Brown.
