Fans recently received two surprises when Bailey Zimmerman first revealed he would be dropping his highly-anticipated song, “Never Leave” and then announced his debut EP, Leave The Light On.

The rising star discovered the demo of this song which he shared he wrote last year. He decided to tease what he had on social media and ever since then, his fans have been craving it, which is not an uncommon occurrence for Zimmerman.

The buzz around it never faded so because of the response he got, the 22-year-old Illinois native finished the song and couldn’t wait even one more day to put it out into the world.

One user said, “Another song that will be on repeat all day,” while another wrote, “Never been more excited for a Thursday!”

“Never Leave” follows his usual theme of love and heartbreak, but it approaches things a bit differently this time. Zimmerman slows things down, letting his desperate vocals take the lead as he pleads with his love interest to stick around and try to make things work. The intense desire to stop his partner from walking away draws listeners in and keeps them hooked until the final note.

“I won’t give up on you, so darlin’, don’t give up on me / Don’t you wanna stay? / Don’t just walk away from our memories / And I can’t promise nothin’ but the rest of me / I’ll fight for you, I’ll fight for us, I’ll fight to never leave,” he sings in the chorus.

“I was in a pretty weird part of a relationship at the time, and just wanted to write something that expressed how I felt about the situation,” Zimmerman explained in a recent press release. “When I came into the room with Gavin Lucas, Mary Kutter, and my man Chris Sligh, I knew I could be really honest!”

This song will be featured on his recently announced debut EP, along with several of his previous releases including “Fall In Love,” “Rock And A Hard Place” and “Where It Ends.” He shared that this 9-track collection is set to drop on Oct. 14

Zimmerman’s current hit single, “Fall In love” is now within the Top 15 at country radio and Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Thanks to his fans’ dedication and loyalty, the song has earned nearly 250 million streams worldwide and has been named the 11th most-streamed country song of the year.

Everything changed for Zimmerman when he shared his very first song in 2021. He grew to love music from listening to hours of country music on the radio to fill the time on trips across state lines with his father, who owned a trucking business. At the same time, when he was back home, his mom instilled in him a life-long appreciation for power chords.

Now, his own music is thriving on country radio and his name is heard all throughout the industry. Plus, he can proudly say that every single date on his first-ever headlining trek is now completely sold out.

Bailey Zimmerman is next slated to perform on Thursday, Sept. 22 in Waco, Texas.
