Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex-wife, FIREROSE, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, is feeling “grateful” to be alive after spending several days in the hospital.

On Tuesday evening, she took to social media to share a carousel of photos documenting the past week that found her under the care of doctors and nurses. The images start with a bright selfie of what seems to be a happy and healthy version of FIREROSE, followed by snapshots of her in a hospital bed, bible readings that gave her strength, and flowers to brighten her stay.

The Instagram post was paired with a statement that gave the Australian singer/songwriter’s followers an update the “life-threatening” diagnosis that appears to have ended with good news.

“Home from 5 days in hospital after being rushed to emergency & finding out I had a life-threatening diagnosis. I’m so profoundly grateful to be alive it’s hard to even explain,” FIREROSE began.

Although she has opted to withhold any further details regarding her diagnosis until she feels more ready to speak on the subject, a previous post indicates that she could be facing issues in regards to BRACA, also known as “the breast cancer gene.” For now, she was able to assure fans that she got to the ER just in time and as a result is going to be “absolutely OK.”

The “Plans” singer continued, “Beyond thankful for all the amazing doctors & nurses who took such great care of me & my beautiful soul family for every prayer, visit, text & call.”

This experience has given FIREROSE a new outlook on life. She leaned on her faith to get her through the past week of uncertainty and is now feeling called to live each day to the fullest and continue making impactful music.

“The Lord reminded me I have much purpose still on earth, making music to help others & glorify Him. Now my testimony’s even stronger, with this radical grace & my life being saved once again. What a wonderful blessing each day forward is from here 🙏🏼✨” she wrote in conclusion.

FIREROSE And Former Husband, Billy Ray Cyrus Finalize Divorce

This news comes a little over a month after FIREROSE’s now ex-husband, Billy Ray Cyrus, confirmed their divorce via social media. The former couple is said to have reached a settlement agreement at mediation on Friday, August 2, nearly three months after Cyrus filed to dissolve their seven-month marriage due to “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct.”

Since May of 2024, the pair have gone back and forth in a public battle, with each party making accusations towards the other. The female songstress accused Cryus of being abusive and reportedly told Page Six that he had “very strict rules” for her to follow in their relationship. Meanwhile, Cyrus denied the claims, but indicated that FIREROSE cheated, was verbally abusive, and she was using him for a “scam,” causing him to reportedly seek an annulment from the court on the grounds that the marriage was “obtained by fraud.” FIREROSE also denied his accusations.

The marital struggles between the pair seemingly began just a few months after tying the knot in October of 2023.
