Billy Ray Cyrus is seeking a temporary restraining order from his soon-to-be ex-wife, Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges.
According to documents obtained by People, on Thursday, June 13 in a Tennessee court, the country star filed an emergency motion to obtain a temporary restraining order that would block Firerose from “unauthorized” use of his credit cards, including personal and business.
Cyrus claimed that Firerose has spent over $96,000 in charges on his business account in recent weeks. This reportedly includes $70,665 to her attorneys.
In the affidavit, Billy Ray Cyrus wrote, “As a result of these fraudulent charges… I am concerned that Ms. Hodges is in possession of other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts.”
Cyrus, 62, filed for divorce from Firerose, 37, on May 23. The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer cited “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct” as the reasons for the split. Additionally, he claimed the marriage was “obtained by fraud” and is seeking an annulment from the court.
These charges to Cyrus’ credit cards reportedly began the day he filed for divorce, which came almost seven months after the couple said “I do.”
Firerose responded to the motion via her attorneys. People obtained the statement, which reads, “To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue. Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”
The Australian-born singer/songwriter also claimed that she had access to Cyrus’ American Express credit card long before they were married – since June of 2022.
According to Cyrus, he and Firerose do not share any financial responsibilities and have no joint accounts or credit cards. They also do not own any real estate together. Firerose, however, allegedly has property in Los Angeles worth over “seven figures” and over half a million dollars in liquid assets.
Following the divorce filing, the couple reached an agreement that Firerose would vacate his property immediately. The country singer agreed to provide her with financial support for 90 days, or until their marriage is no more.
Cyrus was previously married to his now ex-wife Tish Cyrus from 1993 until April of 2022 when the couple filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
He initially met Firerose on the set of Hannah Montana, however, they reunited in recent years and began dating. They became engaged in the fall of 2022 and wed on October 10, 2023.
Throughout their short-lived romance, Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose released several duets, including “New Day,” “Time,” “Plans,” and most recently “After The Storm.”
