Blake Shelton and his girlfriend Gwen Stefani enjoyed a red carpet date night Tuesday (Aug. 13), appearing at the Los Angeles premiere for the upcoming film Bennett’s War, which stars Shelton’s longtime friend and fellow country star Trace Adkins.
Shelton, 43, and Stefani, 49, walked the red carpet outside Warner Bros. Studios together and even posed for a few photos alongside Adkins and actress Victoria Pratt.
Adkins plays the role of Cal Bennett in the film, which centers around his fictional son Marshall, a soldier who sustains an injury from an IED explosion while in combat. Marshall returns home to the United States only to find out that his father, Cal, is on the verge of losing the family farm. Bennett’s War hits theaters Aug. 30.
On Friday, Shelton will release his much-anticipated new single, “Hell Right,” a collaboration with Adkins. Written by David Garcia, Brett Tyler and Michael Hardy, “Hell Right” reunites the pair nearly a decade after their massive hit “Hillbilly Bone” hit the radio waves.
“I decided it would be great to have Trace Adkins on this [song] just because he’s got that low, deep, big voice and he’s so great at the ad-lib stuff,” the Oklahoma native previously explained. “He just brings a certain quality to any recording that nobody else can touch.”
On top of releasing a new single, Shelton is also returning to The Voice alongside Stefani. The new season premieres September 23 on NBC.
