After exchanging with Gwen Stefani on Saturday (July 3), Blake Shelton has officially taken on the role of step dad to Stefani’s three sons: Kingston, 15, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 7.

Although Shelton, 45, may have only officially taken on the role of bonus dad over the weekend, he’s been a part of the boy’s lives for years now and says his role in their lives is something he truly takes to heart.
“I take it very serious, but I also have a blast with it,” the Oklahoma native told KFROG’s The Ride with Kimo & Heather earlier this year. “I don’t take it so serious that I’m not enjoying this time because I really am, especially now that we’re five years into this thing. I can’t imagine my life without these kids now.”
The “Minimum Wage” singer went on to share how his relationship with his stepfather has helped shape him and his new role.
“I have a stepfather in my life who is one of my heroes,” he said. “I love my stepfather and he’s like a father to me, so I have a good inspiration in my life on how to do this and the kind of stepdad I want to be.”
Stefani often gushes over Shelton’s role with her sons on Instagram. On Father’s Day, she shared a touching message to the country superstar, calling him “the most generous patient loving funny guy I know.”

Blake and Gwen said “I do” on Saturday, July 3 at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch in a chapel he reportedly built just for her. They reportedly hosted 40 guests and exchanged vows they wrote themselves. Their longtime friend and The Voice cohort Carson Daly officiated the ceremony.
Shelton proposed to Stefani in October of 2020 after a five-year long relationship. They first met in 2014 while on the set of NBC’s The Voice. The pair became a couple in 2015 and officially confirmed their romance at the 2015 CMA Awards. Since then, they have virtually been inseparable.
