Brantley Gilbert will release his much-anticipated fifth studio album, Fire & Brimstone, on October 4.
Announced Friday (August 2), the 15-track album finds Gilbert collaborating with a number of country music’s finest, including Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson and Colt Ford. Fire & Brimstone also includes “What Happens in a Small Town,” his Top 15-and-climbing collaboration with Lindsay Ell.
A lot has happened since Gilbert released his last album, 2017’s The Devil Don’t Sleep. Those changes, including his life as a husband and father, will be reflected throughout the personal new album. Gilbert, who wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, feels like he truly takes things to the next level with this record.
“I know it sounds crazy, but never did I once bring a lyric sheet into the studio with me,” Gilbert says regarding the recording process for the new album. “I feel like I am at this stage in my career where I am confident enough to let the music take me where it’s meant to go, no matter how down and dirty that might be. There is no doubt that this is the album that allowed me to grow up musically.”
Also included on the album is the emotional track, “Man That Hung the Moon,” which Gilbert wrote for his son and his daughter, who is due in September. He recently released a personal new music video for the song that showcases his wife and son, Barrett. Watch it HERE.
Following the October 4 release of Fire & Brimstone, Gilbert will set sail for his Second Annual Kick It in the Ship cruise. Joining the hitmaker on the high seas will be Chase Rice, LANCO, Diamond Rio, Tyler Farr, Danielle Bradbery, Jon Langston, Colt Ford, Tyler Rich, SixForty1, Trea Landon, Sam Grow, Tyler Braden, Brian Davis, Tyler Booth and more.
