Canaan Smith and his wife Christy are going to be parents!
The couple shared the exciting news with People, revealing that they are expecting their first child together after five years of marriage.
The singer/songwriter opened up about the moment Christy surprised him with the news, calling it “the best and most meaningful moment of my life.”
Opting to not learn the baby’s gender until he or she arrives in the delivery room, the couple is currently on the hunt for the perfect name. Smith admitted they are “constantly adding and erasing names” from their list of possible baby names.
“We both love unique names, so it’s been a blast to do this together,” he told the publication.
To celebrate their baby announcement, Smith released a new song called “Life Ain’t Fair.” Written with Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, “Life Ain’t Fair” is a sweet tribute to Christy, who is featured in the just-released YouTube clip to accompany the song. Fans can check it out above.
The exciting news comes on the heels of Smith signing a new recording contract with Florida Georgia Line’s Round Here Records.
