There’s nothing quite like sitting around a fire, cracking open some cold ones and just having a good conversation about life with friends.
Chase Rice replicated his real life moments like this with Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line in the music video for their collab, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talking’ God. Amen.” Each of the three country singers looked pretty comfortable in the video, almost like they do this sort of thing all the time.
The clip was filmed on Rice’s own property in Nashville at an old tobacco barn and was directed by award-winning director TK McKamy.
This is the first collaboration between Rice and FGL since their 2012 hit, “Cruise.” They decided to give this song their all and make it into something they really cared about. When it was originally written, pre-pandemic, it held a slightly different meaning than it does now, but their goal was always the same, to focus on slowing down and taking the time to have those important conversations.
“[The song] couldn’t have been more perfect for what this year has been, which has been a lot of people sitting around fires. For myself, anyway, it’s been a lot of sitting around the dinner table,” Rice said in a previous interview with Country Now. “Having new friends that I’ve never had before, having friends that I have had, but we’ve gone deeper. That’s what I love so much about this song, is that it’s celebrating 2020 for what it is, as opposed to what it wasn’t,” Rice added.

For many, sitting outside by the fire may have been the only safe way to socialize with friends and loved ones this past year. Just as Rice explained, it seems as though a bigger power had the perfect plan in mind for this single.
“We actually wrote this song before the pandemic, which is crazy because it’s almost like God was intervening in the song just to say, ‘Hey y’all, get ready. You’re gonna have a lot of time to sit around a fire, drink some beer and hang out with me,’” Rice shared in a press release.
The good-natured song was written by Rice, Hunter Phelps, Cale Dodds and Corey Crowder.
