In 2019, Chris Lane shared his romantic proposal to wife Lauren on social media, using his single, “Big, Big Plans.” Today, the country star is preparing for the next big step in his life: fatherhood.
The couple announced the exciting news in December of 2020 and have been keeping fans updated online ever since.
When he’s not working on new music, Lane is now spending his time practicing for their little boy to arrive. He shared a hilarious post on Instagram, showing off his diaper changing skills that he learned in a baby class. Although the baby was in fact just a doll, Lane was still prepared for anything with his face shield and gloves on.

In another post, Lauren shared a glimpse into what the couple will look like as a family, once their son has arrived, using the same doll that had just recently been changed by the ever so safe dad-to-be.
Lauren’s caption read, “Chris and I took a Baby 101 class and I feel WAY more prepared. Chris dropped about 100 dad jokes and my heart melted seeing him change a diaper on a doll so I cannot imagine the feeling I’ll have seeing him with our son.”

It seems both of them have noticed Lane transforming into dad mode more and more each day.
“I have 100% taken on the dad bod at this point. Being at home every night with a wife that cooks, I’ve been eatin’, eatin’, eatin,’” Lane said in an interview with Audacy’s Jesse Addy during the Country Top 20.
Between the dad jokes and the dad bod, it seems as though Lane is more than ready to take on his new role.
As fans await the arrival of baby Lane, the country hitmaker has been dishing out some new summer tracks and preparing for his return to the stage this summer. His most recent release is “Summer Job Money,” which gives a nod to Lane’s summer job as a teen and follows his small-town romance story in single, “Fill Them Boots.”
