Soon-to-be father Chris Lane has even more to celebrate this week as his latest single, “Big, Big Plans,” reached the top of the country radio charts.

The song, which sits atop both the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Airplay charts, marks Lane’s third career No.1 in the U.S. and his fourth in Canada.

“As an artist the most rewarding thing for me is writing a song and hearing fans sing it back, and make it part of their own story as well,” shared Lane. “It’s been so much fun to see the way such a personal song for me has impacted other people over time. From proposing to my wife, to seeing others’ proposals at shows and on social media, to it now hitting #1 on Country radio is unbelievable. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Lane co-wrote “Big, Big Plans” with Jacob Durrett and Ernest Keith Smith. This is his first No.1 as a songwriter and it’s all the more special as he penned it prior to his engagement to his now-wife, Lauren. The pair’s romantic engagement is documented in the “Big, Big Plans” music video.

Lane’s chart-topping news comes after he and Lauren announced that they’re expecting their first child together.

The couple shared the news with fans via Instagram earlier this month with a video of an ultrasound.

Prayer works! Hope you look like your Mama,” Lane, 36, captioned the clip.

In a recent interview, Lane revealed that they plan to find out the baby’s gender in the coming weeks and that he secretly hopes it’s a boy.

Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell began dating in 2018 and tied the knot on October 25, 2019.
