Chris Young and Kane Brown just released the much-anticipated music video for their hit collaboration, “Famous Friends.”
The clip was filmed in Gallatin, Tenn., and features a number of the artists’ real-life friends on the town square intermixed with shots of Young and Brown’s high octane rooftop performance.
The duet finds the superstars giving a shoutout to their hometowns – Rutherford County, Tenn. (Young) and Hamilton County, Ga. (Brown) – as well as Davidson County, Tenn. where their adopted hometown of Nashville is located.
“Famous Friends” t is all about celebrating life’s everyday heroes, like teachers, preachers and police officers, who are famous in their small towns.
“I’ve got some famous friends you’ve probably never heard of/ But back in Rutherford County our crowd is second to none/ You might not know ‘em here in this big city we’re in/ But when I go back home I’ve got some famous friends,” Young sings on the first chorus.
“Famous Friends” was co-written by Young alongside Cary Barlowe and Corey Crowder during a tour stop in Tampa, Fla. Young and Brown initially teased the track on social media in May of 2020. The overwhelming response prompted Young to release the full song as his latest radio single.
“This song is a piece of me and it means a lot because it’s honest and it’s real-life,” Young previously shared. “Plus, Kane and I are good friends and being able to have that history together, it adds a whole other level to the track. ’Famous Friends’ is one of my favorite songs – it’s personal and it’s a lot of fun, so I’m glad it’s getting out there for people to hear it.”
Brown and Young previously collaborated on the track “Setting the Night on Fire,” which appeared on the deluxe edition of Brown’s self-titled debut album. The singer/songwriters also toured together during Chris Young’s Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour.
