The Masked Singer has unmasked the celebrity disguised as an Astronaut, revealing that country singer Hunter Hayes is beneath the mask.
The astronaut’s identity was revealed on Wednesday’s (April 29) episode entitled, ‘The Battle of The Sixes: The Final 6.’
Frog, Kitty, Rhino, Turtle, Night Angel and Astronaut performed in front of the star-studded panel of judges, including Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, along with the guest judge, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Hayes’ baffled McCarthy, Thicke, Ramsey and Jeong, who guessed that the celebrity beneath the Astronaut costume was Ben Platt, Jonathan Taylor Thomas or Skylar Astin while performing One Direction’s hit song “Story Of My Life.”
However, Scherzinger knew exactly who was under the mask, guessing Hayes’.

“It’s been an unbelievable experience,” said Hayes after being unmasked. “This time in my life is a great chance for me to sort of hit a reset button and to try a bunch of things that I was scared of, and this show’s full of those. I’ve never danced properly, I’ve never worked on choreo. Trying new songs, trying new things with my voice, it’s been incredible.”
During Hayes’ time on the show as the Astronaut, several clues were unveiled including an accordion (an instrument Hayes can play), The White House (a place he performed at age 7), a lightbulb (referencing his song “Light Me Up”) and an airplane (he’s said to have had many flight lessons). After his first performance, many fans guessed that Hayes was behind the mask.
Five contestants remain including Rhino, Turtle, Frog, Kitty and Night Angel. Fans can find out who will win during the finale on May 27.
The Masked Singer airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on FOX.
