Craig Morgan is gearing up to bring his music seaside as part of Boots on the Water, a five-day honky tonk cruise experience on the Norwegian Gem.
The exciting trip taking place from Feb. 8 – Feb. 13, 2025 is the perfect getaway for country music lovers. While en route to the tropical destinations of Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, voyagers will experience daily performances and unique opportunities to get up close and personal with some of their favorite country singers and songwriters.
Artists confirmed to appear include Big & Rich Featuring Gretchen Wilson, Craig Morgan, Jo Dee Messina, Lonestar, Montgomery Gentry Featuring Eddie Montgomery, Pam Tillis, Little Texas, Suzy Bogguss, and Sarah Gayle Meech. Plus, Lorianne Crook of Crook & Chase will be on hand to host.
Morgan, who recently performed at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium as part of CMA Fest, revealed to Country Now that he is eager to be a part of Boots on the Water as it will be his first cruise experience in “a long time.”
“I love it. These are my friends,” he shared. “It’s gonna be a lot of fun to reunite with those folks and spend a little time with them…These are great entertainers.”
Taking His Set From Land To Water
Boots on the Water will embark from Miami, Florida on the luxurious Norwegian Gem on February 8, 2025, and set sail to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas before returning to the Port of Miami on February 13.
Even though his upcoming performances will look a bit different than his usual venues, the “International Harvester” singer plans to approach these shows on the water the same as he would for those on land. Plus, it will give him the chance to connect with his loyal fanbase in a very unique way.
“When we do these cruises, one thing that we know is that that’s our fan base. These people come on this cruise just to hang out and listen to the musicians so we know we’ve got our core fan base there, and that’s exciting,” he explained. “I’ll be honest, on a cruise ship, it can be a little restrictive, but it’s fun. I personally enjoy them. I’m looking forward to this week.”
Songwriter’s Sessions On Board
He went on to explain that each artist will get to headline their own show throughout the trip in addition to taking part in a plethora of other events. For example, Morgan has also been tapped to join in on one of the can’t-miss Songwriter’s Sessions. Presented by Nashville’s iconic The Listening Room Café, these sessions will feature some of Music City’s top songwriters, including Kelly Archer, Phil Barton, Chris Blair, Chris DeStefano, Brett James, AJ Kross, Lee Thomas Miller, Wendell Mobley, Tim Nichols, Liz Rose, and Stephony Smith.
“Basically, we’ll be doing one full-band headline show, and then I’m going to do a songwriter’s seminar kind of thing one day with one of my songwriting buddies and band members and producer. Then the other guys will fill in the other nights. Each one of us will take turns,” Morgan explained.
The Tennessee native previously devoted seventeen years to the Army and Army Reserve with the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions as an E-6 Staff Sergeant and Fire Support Specialist, which included certifications in Airborne, Air Assault, and Rappel Master. Then in July of 2023, he was sworn-in as a Staff Sergeant and Warrant Officer candidate in the U.S. Army Reserve on country music’s most famous stage, the Grand Ole Opry. During his time on the upcoming trip, fans will hear Morgan share stories from his life and career and the impact country music has had on his journey, while also showcasing his collection of hits and fan-favorite tunes, including those featured on his latest six-song EP, Enlisted. Fans can also learn more about Morgan’s journey through his 2022 memoir – God, Family, Country, which was released in trade paper back on May 7.
Along with taking the stage several nights throughout the trip, Morgan also plans to spend his down time enjoying the stunning views and fun activities alongside his wife and a few friends who will be joining him on the cruise.
“I haven’t done one in a long time and my wife and I haven’t been on a cruise in a while so we’re going, we got a bunch of friends going. It’s going to be fun,” he added.
