Dalton Dover recently unveiled a new song titled “Bury Me In This Bar” under UMG Nashville/Mercury Records. Striving to incorporate the beloved 90’s country vibe, Dover skillfully intertwines a steel guitar, a toe-tapping beat, and a whole lot of enthusiasm into the tune.
Providing an original scope to his music, The Voice alum showcases his dynamic vocals, his relatable songwriting, and his lively spirit. He holds true to traditional country while adding his own contemporary twist to the mix.
“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of writing,” Dover said in a release. “We really wanted to capture the fun and energy of those ‘90s country bar anthems that you just can’t skip or resist singing along with when you hear it…we can’t wait to hear people sing it with us on the road.”
Making His ’90s Country Heroes Proud

Dover admits he was deeply influenced by country music icons such as Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, and Toby Keith when penning this tune alongside Dan Isbell, Jamie Davis, and Benjy Davis. Reflecting on the creation of “Bury Me In This Bar,” Dover shared his vision and inspiration for the song.
“When we wrote ‘Bury Me In This Bar,’ I wanted to write a song that would make my ‘90s Country heroes proud and my Country Music heroes in general proud, and I feel like we’ve done that with ‘Bury Me In This Bar,’” the rising star explained.
He continued, “It’s fun. If you’re in a bar, drinking a cold beer, you’re just hanging out with your friends and ‘Bury Me In This Bar’ comes on, you’re gonna vibe, and I would like to think y’all would love it just as much as we do. I hope that as you guys are listening and whatever you may be doing while you’re listening, you’re having as much fun as we did.”
What Is The Story Behind “Bury Me In This Bar”?
The new release tells the story of someone who prefers to be laid to rest in the atmosphere of the bar. They find peace and comfort within the familiar scene and they can’t bear the thought of leaving that shared connection behind.
“Oh, bury me in this bar / Where the women and the whiskey ain’t too far / Yeah, my soul is meant to beat on / Underneath that neon / Smilin’ to the sound of a steel guitar / I’ll rest in peace where all my people are / Bury me in this bar,” Dover sings in the chorus.

In addition to touring with Sam Hunt this summer, Dover will hit the road for his headlining “Never Giving Up On That” tour beginning April 5. This tour promises to bring Dover’s energetic performances and infectious music to fans across the country.
