Just one week prior to the release of Dustin Lynch’s sixth studio album, Killed The Cowboy, the multi-platinum star has announced his 2024 headlining tour of the same name.

Launching next year on April 2, the Killed the Cowboy Tour begins at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, and will continue with stops in major cities including Charlotte, NC, Minneapolis, MN, Boston, MA, and more. The 18-date run featuring special guest Skeez is then set to wrap up on May 11 at Harrah’s Stir Concert Cove in Council Bluffs, IA.

2024 Tour

Coming off a successful year on the road with his Party Mode Tour, Lynch shared that he’s ready to do it all over again on his next run with even more energy and plenty of new music.

“I’m at a spot in life where I’m super focused on celebrating and living in the moment. The crew and I did a lot of that on the PARTY MODE TOUR and really found ourselves out there. The fans were coming out bigger, badder, and louder than ever,” Lynch shared via press release. “I’m excited for them to dive into this album, find themselves in it, and then bring that energy with their friends to the KILLED THE COWBOY TOUR next spring.”

New Album Coming Soon

Per his statement, fans can expect a jam-packed setlist featuring a mix of new music off his upcoming album and his fan-favorite hits such as his current Top 10-and-rising single, “Stars Like Confetti” off his most recent collection, Blue In The Sky.

Tickets for the Killed the Cowboy Tour go on sale on album release day (Sept. 29) at 10 a.m. (local) at DustinLynchMusic.com.  Starting at 10 a.m. (local) tomorrow (9/22), Stay Country Club members will receive an exclusive presale, allowing them the first opportunity to purchase tickets here.

In advance of his next project, the BBR Music Group artist most recently teamed up with labelmate Jelly Roll for his latest release, “Chevrolet.”

Written by Chase McGill, Jessi Alexander, Hunter Phelps, and Mentor Williams, the new song finds the pair of hitmakers coming together to put a fresh twist on a classic tune. Underneath the quintessential small-town love story that comes alive within the country anthem, listeners will quickly recognize a familiar melody that matches Dobie Gray’s signature track, “Drift Away.”

“There is something in the air in Nashville right now, where writers are on the same wavelength and doing cool things like interpolating classic songs into something new. When ‘Chevrolet’ came across our plate, it floored me. Everyone knows Dobie Gray’s ‘Drift Away’ – the melody of that song is timeless,” Lynch shared via press release. “Having Jelly Roll on it adds an extra edge.”

Lynch takes the lead on the opening verse and chorus before Jelly Roll joins in with his gritty, Tennessee-bred vocals to elevate the song’s midtempo, feel-good sound.

“Just gimme a dirt road, the windows down / Wanna get lost on the edge of town / In your Chevrolet / She said gimme a six-pack, some Brooks & Dunn / If you want a country girl you just found one / Let’s step away, yeah / In your Chevrolet,” the country stars sing on the chorus.

“Chevrolet” marks yet another glimpse into Killed The Cowboy, following the release of the album’s hazy title track.

“When I first heard ‘Killed The Cowboy,’ I was drawn to its haunting melody, and then I got to thinking about the lyric and realized, ‘Damn, I’m this guy right now in my life,’” Lynch recalled in a statement. “Relationships can come in hot and heavy and then implode. But that heartbreak, in a weird way, also makes you feel alive, to have another person move you like that. You feel that roller coaster of emotion and passion, and that sparks me creatively as an artist.”

12-Track Project

The 12-track project out September 19 serves as a follow-up to Lynch’s 2022 project, Blue in the Sky and draws inspiration from him navigating the more personal side of things as a 38-year-old single man. At this stage in life, Lynch finds himself wondering, is he ready to settle down and start a family, or will he continue to live out his life as bachelor?

“When I’m off the road and working on my farm, I have a lot of inner dialogue. It’s a boxing match inside of me, between living in the moment and enjoying where I am, versus what’s the best version of me five, 10, or 20 years down the road,” Lynch explained. “What do I want to be? What do I want life to look like? Who do I want to be around?”

He continued, “Killed The Cowboy is that back-and-forth. It’s me asking myself, ‘Am I okay? Or am I weird for not having found my person yet? And is she even out there?’ My hope is that this album finds someone who needs to hear it. I want Killed The Cowboy to embrace the single people of the world and lift them up, to let them know that you don’t have to live a ‘normal’ life to still be happy in your own skin.”

Killed The Cowboy  also features an impressive lineup of songwriters, including Dallas Davidson, Josh Thompson, Ashley Gorley, Zach Crowell, and more. Dustin Lynch co-wrote five of the tracks.

Dustin Lynch has spent the majority of the year bringing his hit tracks to stage across the country on a variety of headlining dates and music festivals. Before embarking on next year’s headlining run, the singer/songwriter still has a few remaining dates on the books for 2023

Dustin Lynch is next slated to perform on September 22 in Tempe, AZ as part of the 2023 Boots In The Park festival.
