Eric Church is one of the many country superstars taking part in Sunday’s ACM Presents: Our Country special on CBS. Ahead of the two-hour special, the Academy of Country music released the complete list of performances and it appears Church is set to debut a brand new song during the show.
According to the ACM, Church will perform a song called “Never Break Heart.” No further details about the song are known at this time, however, that song does not currently appear within the superstar’s catalog, so it looks like fans will be treated to their first taste of brand new music from Church on Sunday.
The current ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee recently opened up about his new music, revealing that he wrote and recorded 28 songs in 28 days for his next project.
“I’d write a song in the morning, we’d cut it that night,” he explained. “We removed all the barriers. Chase that as hard as you can [and] move on. For me, it’s as far out there as I have gotten.”
Though he admits it was “kind of like The Shining,” he believes the end result was worth it.
“Looking back at what came out of it, everyone needed to be uncomfortable,” he acknowledged. “The writers had no clue what they were in for. All that is what made it great.”
ACM Presents: Our Country will air Sunday, April 5 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT and 7:00 PM CT) on the CBS Television Network and on CBS All Access.
