With only a few weeks until the February 2 release of her sophomore album, Chapter & Verse, Gabby Barrett is sharing more detials about the 14-song project, including the track list that features some well-known country stars within the credits.
This highly anticipated collection gives fans an in-depth look into Barrett’s life as a 23-year-old mom, wife, and hard-working country star. She opens up about the highs and lows while tributing her faith for getting her through any obstacle that comes.
What Does The Title Chapter & Verse Mean?
The title, Chapter & Verse makes it clear that Barrett’s spirituality is at the forefront of her life and career as it refers to the chapters and verses found in each book of the Bible and how the stories relate to her real life.
The Warner Music Nashville multi-platinum star has offered a preview of her autobiographical project through advanced releases of songs like “Glory Days,” her current single that’s Top 20-and-climbing at Country radio, “Cowboy Back” and “Growin’ Up Raising You,” a heartfelt tune that touches on being a mom of two with another one on the way.
Collaborating With Hitmakers Like Luke Combs And Miranda Lambert
With the official track list on display now via social media, fans can see that the project will also feature a guest spot from Phil Wickham (“The Verse: Doxology (Amen)” and background vocals by Luke Combs on “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” a standout tune that Barrett has previously teased on Instagram.
Following her debut album Goldmine, Gabby Barrett took on greater creative control than ever before on Chapter & Verse. She serves as a co-producer on every track alongside GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter-producer Ross Copperman and had a hand in co-writing nine of the 14 songs as well as collaborating with hitmakers like Miranda Lambert on her latest release, “You’re My Texas.”
“You’re My Texas” finds Barrett, a Pennsylvania-raised woman, paying homage to her love for her husband and Texas native, Cade Foehner. The ”Pick Me Up” singer’s stunning vocals also highlight the beauty of the Lone Star State that she says has now become her “home away from home.”
“When I think of Texas, I think of my husband and raising our babies in this beautiful state that we’re proud to call home,” Barrett of the new song. “It was my first time really meeting Miranda while writing this song, and I’m thankful that we could bond over our love for Texas. I always enjoy writing with Hillary too, so it was a great group of ladies to be in the room with. This one just fell out naturally, and I love everything about it.”
