Jake Hoot’s long-awaited debut EP, Love Out Of Time, won’t be released until Wednesday, January 27, but the Voice champion is giving fans a taste of what’s to come with the debut of the opening track, “This Is The Night,” exclusively on Country Now.
Co-written by Hoot alongside Danny Myrick and Kylie Sackley, “This Is The Night” is a feel-good tune all about living in the moment. The lyrics paint the picture of a night out in a small-town and effortlessly capture the feeling of a carefree evening with friends.
Backed by an infectious melody, Hoot reminds listeners that “it’s all gonna be alright” while name-dropping George Strait and referencing songs by Boston and Air Supply. When live shows return, “This Is The Night” is guaranteed to become a roaring sing-along live moment.

Hoot knew he had to include “This Is The Night” on the EP as it encapsulates the freedom of a breezy summer night on the town.
“When picking songs to put on the album, we really needed a timeless, summertime/party tune, and what a better title than ‘This Is The Night!’ We really tried hard to capture all of those summertime, backwoods feels, while also throwing in some old ’80s references,” Hoot explains. “If you can listen to the song without tapping your foot, I want to shake your hand.”
“This Is The Night” is featured on Hoot’s forthcoming debut EP, Love Out Of Time. The five-song project is set to release on January 27 and finds the rising country singer teaming up with an impressive lineup of musicians and songwriters, including Dean Sams (Lonestar), Myrick, Jenne Fleenor (CMA Award-winning musician), Dave Pahanish (Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith), Jamie Floyd (Ingrid Andress, Lucie Silvas, Ashley Monroe) and more.
Also included on the EP is Hoot’s much-anticipated new single, “I Would’ve Loved You,” which also features superstar Kelly Clarkson. Hoot recently teased the song and music video, adding to fans’ excitement over the power ballad.
Love Out Of Time is available for pre-order now.
