Bobby Bones and his soon-to-be wife, Caitlin Parker, will put their outdoor skills to the test on an upcoming episode of National Geographic’s Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
Bones revealed the news on Friday morning (Jan. 23) when surprise guest Bear Grylls called into The Bobby Bones Show.
“Bear Grylls has reached out and asked Caitlin and I to do it together,” the multi-media personality shared.
Bones previously appeared on the Nat Geo show in early 2020. At the time, he vowed to never put himself through that kind of experience again but quickly changed his mind when Grylls reached back out.
“Listen, after I went on the first trip, I thought, ‘well that was fun I will never do that again.’ [I] loved Bear, didn’t love the cliffs I had to go down and some of those crazy experiences,” Bones explained, “But Bear reached out and said, ‘would you guys do it together?’ Caitlin’s not a TV person, but she also is an athlete and loves adventure so we’ve accepted his challenge.”
Bones and Parker are taping their episode of Running Wild this weekend and Bones says he’s not sure if he’s ready for what’s to come. This will be the couple’s first television appearance together.

“Caitlin is going to dominate me in the wild. I already feel it,” he quipped.
“This is taking it up a level, be ready,” Grylls warned. “Be ready.”
Bones’ episode of Running Wild was the highest-rated episode of last season. It is currently available to stream on Disney+.
Fans can also catch Bones on the upcoming season of American Idol, where he’ll return as the show’s in-hour mentor. The season premiere of American Idol will air on Sunday, February 14 at 8/7c on ABC.
