Gabby Barrett, King Calaway

Gabby Barrett joined King Calaway on the latest episode of the group’s Nashville’s House Band Series to sing a classic Dolly Parton song.

Barrett and King Calaway delivered an impressive, socially-distanced rendition of “Jolene.” The just-released clip features all six members of King Calaway, Chris Deaton, Simon Dumas, Chad Michael Jervis, Jordan Harvey, Austin Luther and Caleb Miller, performing from their homes around the world, and Barrett performing from Texas.

“It was only a matter of time till we threw in some Dolly P!!!! Hope you love this cover of Jolene. @GabbyBarrett_ is the voice you didn’t know you needed this morning,” King Calaway tweeted along with the video.

“Jolene” was written solely by Parton and was released in October of 1973. The song was the lead single and title track from her Jolene album, which was released in early 1974.
