Ingrid Andress is coming clean to fans following her viral off-key performance of the national anthem at the 2024 Home Run Derby during MLB All-Star Week

The four-time GRAMMY nominee issued a statement on Tuesday (July 16), revealing that she was inebriated during the performance and that she is now going to seek help via a rehab facility.

“I’m not gonna bullshit y’all, I was drunk last night,” she wrote in an honest Instagram post. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need.”

She went on to apologize to everyone who was watching and those who were offended by her performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

“That was not me last night,” she stated. “I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is I hear it’s super fun. XO, Ingrid.”

Andress went viral for her performance of the national anthem, which took place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The performance drew criticism from viewers, with many deeming it the “worst” of all time. It also drew comparisons to Fergie’s 2018 rendition of the national anthem at NBA All-Star weekend and Rosanne Barr’s controversial 1990 performance at a San Diego Padres game.

Following the Home Run Derby, Andress’ name trended worldwide as viewers shared their criticism of the performance.

Known for songs like “More Hearts Than Mine,” “Lady Like,” and “Wishful Drinking” with Sam Hunt. She has released two albums, Lady Like, which dropped in 2020, and Good Person, which arrived in 2022.

She’s opened up for artists such as Keith Urban, Walker Hayes, and Kelsea Ballerini.

Andress is slated to release a brand-new single on July 24. She recently took to social media to announce the news.

“Greetings to everyone that has a pulse. I truly love you all so much. I’ve been absent for a minute, but I’m so stoked to announce that my new single “Colorado 9” comes out on July 24th,” she wrote.

Andress was slated to perform in Nashville on Wednesday, July 17, however, according to her official website, that performance has been canceled. Andress’ next performance is slated for August 3 in Minneapolis.
