Chris Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane, recently welcomed their son, Dutton Walker Lane, and some fans are convinced that his name was inspired by the hit show, Yellowstone.

The couple first introduced fans to baby Dutton Walker on Thursday (June 10) and revealed that he was born on Tuesday, June 8, weighing in at 9 lbs. and measured 19.5 inches long.

Chris and Lauren’s social media posts were flooded with congratulatory comments and many of them were in response to the baby’s unique name. Some fans believe his name was inspired by the Paramount Network show, which stars Kevin Costner.

Yellowstone is centered around Costner’s character, John Dutton, who is the sixth-generation patriarch of the Dutton Family. The family operates the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, the largest ranch in the United States.

Perhaps his first name is inspired by the Dutton family name from the show?

As for his middle name, Walker, that could also be inspired from a character on Yellowstone as singer/songwriter Ryan Bingham’s character on the show is Walker, an former prisoned turned ranch hand.

Maybe baby Lane’s name has nothing to do with the show and it’s all just a coincidence. Only time will tell.

Prior to Dutton’s birth, Chris and Lauren kept his name on the down-low. The “Fill Them Boots” singer did, however, share one name that Lauren “shut down so hard.”

“I’ll tell you one that I threw out, and I was like, halfway joking, halfway serious, and Lauren shut me down really fast. But I thought it was kinda cool! I wanted to name him Rambo,” he revealed.

Chris shared that he felt like the name sounded “tough,” especially if he went into sports.

“Like, what can I name him that stands out and is tough?” he points out. “I feel like [hearing an announcer say], ‘Coming up to bat, Rambo Lane’ — how can he not drop bombs, you know what I mean?”

Chris and Lauren announced their pregnancy in early December of 2020. They rang in the new year by announcing that they were expecting a baby boy. Since then, they’ve been busy preparing for life as parents and even took a Baby 101 class in early May.

Chris and Lauren began dating in 2018 and tied the knot on October 25, 2019.
