When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, Jelly Roll explained that his goals are focused on maintaining a healthier lifestyle for him and his family.
Starting things off strong, he recently took to Twitter to announce that he will be setting aside his phone so that he can fully embrace each day, and continue to live in the moment.
“Im going into 2023 with out a phone. I’ll hop on every now and then from the studio computer and say hello – but I’m going into 2023 with no phone,” he wrote. “I want to be present in every situation and peaceful next year. They last time I spent a year with out a phone was incredible.”
Many users took to the comment section to commend Jelly Roll on this decision and even said it has inspired them to want to do the same.
In addition to stepping away from the screen, the “Son Of A Sinner” singer also plans to hit the ground running on his weight loss journey.
“I’m going to spend the first couple months of the year just focusing on family and health,” he told Music Mayhem. “I lost some weight this year in 2022, but in 2023 I wanna finally conquer the demon. I don’t leave for a big tour until about the middle of the year. So I plan on taking the first half of the year to tighten the album up and get some work in.”
Jelly Roll revealed that he already has a plan in place and is ready to take on this challenge.
“I got a guy, man,” he shared with the outlet. “I’m [about to] start working with my boy, who owns a gym in Brentwood, and we’re [gonna] start getting after it at the top of the year.”
Through a video shared on TikTok, fans learned that he won’t be tackling this journey on his own. Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO were filmed working out in their garage and supporting each other through the circuit.
She captioned the clip, “Workout partnaaa.”
When he’s not hitting the gym, the singer is hopeful that he will spend his time in the studio completing his next full-length project. Fans got a taste of this new music through his latest releases including “Need A Favor” and “She.”
Both tracks deliver a vulnerable truth as Jelly Roll speaks from his experience as a former addict and drug dealer and brings awareness to the struggles he has faced in the past.
The new music follows a string of accomplishments for Jelly Roll. This year, he earned a gold-certified song with his current radio single, “Son of a Sinner,” sold out numerous venues, made his Grand Ole Opry debut, earned his first-ever No. 1 as a singer/songwriter with his debut Rock single “Dead Man Walking,” and more.
He also joined forces with Brantley Gilbert over the summer for their Son of the Dirty South Tour with special guest Pillbox Patti, and ended the year on a high note with a highly-anticipated sold-out show at Nasvhille’s Bridgestone Arena.
Jelly Roll, who was named Favorite Breakthrough Artist in the 2022 Country Now Awards, has yet to share plans for an upcoming tour.
