Lainey Wilson has come up with the perfect New Year’s resolution after her rear end went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms.
The country star recently caught the attention of millions on the internet when her backside became the subject of viral TikTok videos.
She quickly responded to the trend in a video message to fans. Wilson admitted that she could no longer scroll through TikTok without seeing her “fat butt on everything.”
Rather than getting offended by the trend, the chart-topping star decided to fully embrace it.
“Whatever brings the people in,” she laughed in the clip before encouraging her new fans to check out her latest album, Bell Bottom Country.
“However you found me, I’m happy. I’m happy you’re here.”
She later poked fun at the trend by sharing a graphic of herself inside a dump truck alongside a mock commercial driver’s license.
Keeping the momentum going, Lainey Wilson revealed a hilarious resolution for 2023.
“This year’s resolution is going to be to maintain my big ass so more people can kiss it” love y’all. Happy new year,” she wrote on Twitter.
Wilson rang in 2023 by performing her current single “Heart Like A Truck” on New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, which also featured performances from Jason Aldean, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan and more.
Filmed at The Stage on Lower Broadway in Music City and joined by a full band, the Louisiana native performed the chart-climbing single in front of a packed honky tonk.
“I got a heart like a truck / It’s been drug through the mud / Runs on dreams and gasoline / And that ole highway holds the key / It’s got a lead foot down when it’s leaving / Lord knows it’s taken a hell of a beating / A little bit of love is all that it’s needing / But it’s good as it is tough / I got a heart like a truck,” Wilson sang on the tune’s chorus.
Wilson previously shared the story behind her “Heart Like A Truck” single. “This is a song about finding freedom in strength, and not being afraid of your scars and bruises. A truck that has hit a few bumps and earned a few scratches has proved itself and its tenacity…the shiny one on the lot can’t say that,” the country hitmaker explained.
Co-written by Wilson alongside Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson, “Heart Like A Truck” appears on her sophomore project, Bell Bottom Country, which arrived on October 28 via BBR Music Group/Broken Bow Records.
The album features 14 tracks, including “Watermelon Moonshine,” “Live Off,” “Hold My Halo,” “Atta Girl,” “Smell Like Smoke,” as well as a cover of 4 Non Blondes classic hit “What’s Up (What’s Going On).” Bell Bottom Country also features a tribute to her “Deddy” called “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song).”
Every song on the project was co-written by Wilson, except for the 4 Non Blondes cover.
“Heart Like A Truck” follows Wilson’s first-ever No. 1 hit and ACM Song Of The Year, “Things A Man Oughta Know,” and her most recent chart-topper with Cole Swindell, “Never Say Never.”
The 30-year-old singer/songwriter will soon embark on her first-ever headlining tour, dubbed Country With A Flare Tour, which has completely sold out.
“I’ve been looking forward to my first headlining tour for a while now and been itchin to come play y’all some #BellBottomCountry 🔔🍑🤠 but this…a sold out tour?!…wow…y’all better get ready,” Wilson wrote. ”We comin for y’all 👊🏻🤘🏻 #countrywithaflare”
The Country With A Flare Tour, presented by Stella Rosa Future is Female, kicks off on January 4 in Spokane, WA and runs through March 31, where the tour wraps up in Columbus, OH. The 27-city trek features support from Ben Chapman, Meg McRee and Leah Blevins.
Wilson will also join Luke Combs on his massive 2023 stadium tour, which kicks off on March 25, 2023, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. The trek, featuring support from Riley Green, Flatland Cavalry and Brent Cobb, wraps up on July 29 in Philadelphia, PA at Lincoln Financial Field.
