Jon Pardi recently told People that his new album is all about “pushing myself a bit more and trying something new,” so when the concept for his “Heartache Medication” music video included a choreographed line dance, he didn’t think twice about it.

Bringing his longtime girlfriend, Summer Duncan, along for the ride, Pardi was up for the challenge.

“Singing and also dancing — it’s a big step! We had to rehearse for it,” the 34-year-old told the publication. “This is the first time we ever used choreography. We ended up doing practices in my barn at home. It was out of my comfort zone but I love how it came out. I had a lot of fun making this video. I loved being able to dance together.”

The “Heartache Medication” video, which made its debut on Friday (August 2), came together exactly the way Pardi pictured.

“It’s my first single off the new record and I had a specific vision for how I wanted the video to look and feel. This album is a continuation of everything we were able to accomplish with California Sunrise,” he said. “It’s just one of the videos where you just feel good when you watch it.”

Pardi is currently on the road as a special guest on Dierks Bentley’s Burning Man Tour. This fall, he’ll headline his very own Heartache Medication Tour, which is set to kick off October 1 and 2 with back-to-back sold-out shows at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium.
